Keep Warm In Winter (Book Four, Card 9)

It was a full-time job just to stay warm. They rubbed bear and goose oil into their skin. This repelled moisture and also to help retaining heat. They also wore tanned animal skins with the fur attached, but unlike today’s fur coats, they wore them with the fur on their skin for extra insulation and warmth. Huge blankets made of rabbit skins sewed together were used to cover numerous people on cold nights.
