Native Americans have always had a variety of food sources, with strategies varying depending on tribe and region. Hunting, trapping, fishing, gathering, and farming are some of the tactics used. The men would primarily go hunting, while the women would clean the animal, prepare it for cooking, storage, and other uses. Aboriginals from the Great Plains, such as the Cree, relied on bison hunting. The Cree would lead the bison off a cliff because it was such a massive animal.

Traditional hunting methods like as bows and arrows, spears, tomahawks, snares, and traps were also used. The vast majority of tribes obtained their sustenance by hunting large and small wildlife. Aboriginals from the Great Plains, such as the Cree, relied on bison hunting. The Cree would lead the bison off a cliff because it was such a massive animal. Traditional hunting methods like as bow and arrows, spears, tomahawks, snares, and traps were also used. Large game such as deer, moose, caribou, elk, buffalo, and bear, as well as small game like as rabbits, beaver, and muskrat, were hunted by the tribe’s men. They’d also go after turkeys, ducks, and other birds.
